Today, we are reviewing SEO Power Suite by Link-Assistant. This seo software is supposedly the best seo software out there. We decided to take it for a test drive…
Before we get into that, let’s go over exactly what SEO PowerSuite Is:

It consists of 4 programs:

Seo Spyglass- which tells you the number of backlinks for your competitor sites, their PR, etc. It also can tell you where to get high quality backlinks, suggested anchor texts,
number of links a site should attain to be on top and much more.

Link Assistant – is basically a link management tool that helps with building up your linking directories till the establishment of link partnerships. It even allows you to
email with in the system.

Website Auditor – This helps with your on site SEO examining your site and telling you where it needs to be fixed and optimized for.

Rank Checker – Possibly the best tool in the bunch in my opinion. This little guy helps with keyword research as well as checks your rankings from over 579 different search
engines. The user interface is so intuitive and easy to use making it newbie friendly to check your rankings fast.

The research function is very simple and basic and not as complete and detailed as other keyword research software found on the net—this is in the rank checker software. This can be both good and bad. Good for the newbie, but bad if you are an advanced seo person. The rank checker seemed to be the only tool that wasn’t quite as complicated as the others.

Summary:

In conclusion, this is a solid seo software that is honestly geared to the more advanced user. There needs to be more help videos and teaching tools to help you to really make use of their software… unfortunately, there isn’t. For the 249 dollar price and the fact that you’d have to pay 150 dollars per year to keep the tool updated, I’d say to find a cheaper alternative unless you are REALLY into SEO and plan on making a career out of it. Otherwise, find a simpler, easier seo software that has the training for you and that has a lot of the same features as SEO Spyglass.

  • I am running this software and it was not clear to me that you had to pay a yearly fee so by the time I was notified that I had to pay the fee I already had several caimpaigns running so I was unable to switch to another software such as SEO Elite.

I was not happy when they used my testimonial on their site and placed the “no-follow” attribute on the link to my site. No Link love not very supportive for a business in SEO!!!

Thumbs down to SEO Power Suite!

  • Thanks for the honest review and listing the pros and cons. I really wanted to get this software, but for now, I guess I’ll just use the free version to the best of its ability.

  • Thanks for the review. I purchased rank tracker when I was brand new to internet marketing. Yikes. I didn’t even know what a URL was! I just bought everything that was “shiny” promising me the world. Anyway, it’s 2 years later and I finally started trying to use the tool. I didn’t know about the yearly fee either. I paid $99.75 for rank tracker and still don’t know how to use it. As for link assistant, it seems only geared toward recipocal linking. I want one-way backlinks only. Am I incorrect in my assumption about Link-Assistant being only good for reciprocal links? Thanks for the review.

  • Hi Shalisha, unfortunately that seems to be a problem for many people (me including), so don’t worry :-)

As for getting one-way links, you should use an article syndication network. Basically you submit an article to the system, and then it publishes your article to hundreds of “real” blogs across the internet. You can insert 3 links into each article. So 1 publish equals 3 one-way links you would get.

Our syndication network is: http://www.seolinkvine.com/get_traffic.php and there are a couple of others that are also good, like myarticlenetwork.com and articleranks.com.

Good luck and hang in there!

  • Thanks for the honest review. Think I’ll stick with the trial version .. the ROI just doesn’t seem worth it.

  • We’ve been a long term customer.
It was great and then they figured they could be super stars and the basic premise of the software got hijacked by “SEO”
Back in the day you could create really great Linking pages but now it;s all about a ton of SEO (perceived) sizzle but no emphasis on running a campaign on your site to project your linking
fricking disaster – don’t go there

  • Thanks for this honest and really helpful review, and the readers comments also, as a slightly frustrated newbie his was very helpful and i’ll certainly search around before opting for this one. Seems like they may be good for the future, but maybe i’ll find something just as useful before. Thanks again.

  • SEO tools is an excellent suite of programs. We use it for reporting to our clients which is an exceptional function that allows our clients to read complicated info at their own pace and have a meaningful discussion on some of the tricky points.

Also the fee is ok – you only get what you pay for – google and others are constantly updating search methods and software – and SEO tools has made a commitment to keep its software current to those events – that will cost money.

Finally it is good tool for checking up on SEO providers or your own ranking efforts over time – charting and measuring is key to great results.
Yes there are free dumbed down versions – however why would you want to race your competitors on a cheap push bike when they are using F1s?
You can not buy back the time you loose on slow tedious data entry SEO software – how many hours do you have to work to earn $250?

Ps It runs on a Mac! (come on Brad – Mac OS is waiting!!!)

    cheers

Hey Brad, are we ever going to see a Mac version of SEO Elite? Your software is basically the only reason I have Windows set up as a secondary OS anymore!

  • Hi Brad and Team, Just like to say that I have four of your products they are excellent and helpful. I always look forward to your new products. Keep up with your good work. Also the support team are great. Welldone.

  • Honestly. Linkassistant is a complete ripoff… They use deceptive marketing and only puts the “live plan” and it’s cost in the fineprint at the bottom or the information page.

No serious company would try and hide the pricing if they want good relationship with their clients.

Ranktracker is a pretty decent piece of software, but I would not pay and support a company who clearly are trying to deceive their clients.

  • I purchased the SEO Power Suite and thought it had everything you would want in an SEO tool. However, today I was shocked to learn that my license expired and didn’t know you had to pay a fee every year to continue to use it. It wasn’t clear when I first purchased it.

I am not going to renew and will try out SEO Elite in the future.

  • I don’t know for 250 bucks i thought it was nice to know my top competitors for a specific keyword. As far as a Mac version is concerned, just get a copy of vmware fusion and you can run a windows virtual machine on your Mac.
